First Annual Burke County Men's Tennis Tournament

Freedom High School in Morganton will be hosting  the first annual Burke County High School Pre-Season Tournament on Saturday, February 27th.  The schools participating are East Burke, Draughn, Patton and Freedom.  Each high school will have two singles and two doubles entries. Each entry gets two points for winning in the first round and one point thereafter. The team that accumulates the most points wins the championship. The tournament will be playing pro-sets to be able to complete the tournament in one day.  A 10 point tie-break will be played at 8-8.  There may be a a Burke County traveling trophy for the winner.    March 6th will be used as a rain or snow date.   The tournament will begin at 2:00 p.m.   Morganton Freedom head coach Wayne Giese will serve as the tournament director.
