Cedar Ridge Returns Six Starters

08/08/2010 19:11

Cedar Ridge High School has all six starters back this year.   Head coach Eric Rodgman commented, "We were young last year, but we got better throughout the season and just missed the playoffs.   Carrboro reached the final four in the state in 2-A last year, and we defeated them late in the year."   The Lady Red Wolves had 25 out for practice, and Coach Rodgman plans to keep all 25.    Cedar Ridge returns Hannah Marion at number one, Emma Newburg at number two, Mary Rodgman at number three, Megan Mauriello at number four, Emma Smith at number five, and Delaney King at number six.    Coach Rodgman also expects strong pressure on the top six from last year's #7 and #8 Lisa Robbins and Jocelyn Proctor.   The Lady Red Wolves will get a plenty of competition in their conference, annually one of the strongest in the state with the likes of Carrboro, Durham School of the Arts, Northwood, Raleigh Charter School, and the North Carolina School of Science and Math.   "All of these teams will be strong and challenging to play," commented Coach Rodgman.   "Our main goal is to compete well and to qualify for the 2-A playoffs with a solid season in the Carolina 10 Conference (which added a new league member)," he added.
